NEW CLASSES STARTING IN JUNE!!!


Introduction to Creating Steel Furniture

    10 classes (11 weeks)

    Tuesdays starting on June 8th, ending on August 17th

    No class on July 13th

    6pm – 9pm


    Class will cover:  Learning basic furniture making

    techniques. Each student will make one small piece of

    furniture following specific guidelines. Once this first

    project is completed students will develop concepts for    

    a second piece to be created in the class.


    Students signing up for this class should have first taken

    at least 2 introductory steel classes from Christopher at

    Blue Hell Studio or at River City Works, through the Art

    Academy of Cincinnati.



Introduction to Steel Fabrication and Blacksmithing

    10 classes (11 weeks)

    Wednesday starting June 16th, ending on August 25th

    No class on July 14th

    6pm – 9pm


    Class will cover:  MIG welding techniques, how to

    use Oxy/Acetelyne torches for heating and cutting, a

    variety of cold and hot work techniques in steel, and

    basic blacksmithing techniques (including bowl and leaf

    making).


    Students will complete a few small projects while

    learning these techniques.  Through gaining a better

    understanding of the tools used and techniques required

    in working with steel, students will develop concepts for

    a final piece that is of their own design to be completed

    by the end of the 10 week session.

    Saturday starting June 19th, ending on August 28th

    No class on July 17th

    2pm – 5pm


    Class will cover:  MIG welding techniques, how to

*These classes are not welding certification classes.


*Students are required to purchase welding gloves.  Can find them at Lowes, Valley Gas Distributors , or Eastern Welding.


*Students also encouraged to wear steel toed boots, but work boots will do.


Each class is limited to 6 students.


All classes are $325 per student to be paid prior to start of class.


Tools, safety equipment (except steel toe boots), and materials will be provided.


Students must be at least 16 years of age to enroll.

Students must

  1. 1.Bring sketch book

  2. 2.Wear appropriate clothing (ie. steel toe boots, jeans, long sleeve shirts

  3. 3.Purchase welding gloves. These can be found at Lowes, Valley Gas Distributors , or Eastern Welding.
